IP Whitelisting - Safely Connect To Your Exchanges

We’re thrilled to announce that you can now connect to your favorite exchanges with Mizar’s whitelisted IPs. Mizar currently offers IP whitelisting for all its eleven supported exchanges: Binance, Binance.US, KuCoin, WOO X, Bybit, OKX, Huobi, MEXC, Bitget, Crypto.com, and Coinbase.

When you create an API key on your exchange, you can now specify a whitelisted IP. The IP whitelist feature restricts the API keys access to specific IP addresses only, thereby blocking any trading activity if not coming from Mizar’s IP addresses. Mizar’s users' API keys are unique, which means that if you add your key to your Mizar account, no one else will ever be able to use that key on Mizar. 

Why is IP whitelisting improving Mizar’s security?

Mizar is constantly working hard to improve its security, and the API key whitelisting was a key functionality to enable Mizar to offer a secure connection to external exchanges. By connecting to your exchange with Mizar’s IPs, you will make sure that no one else except you can manage your assets from your Mizar account. That means, if your API key was to be lost or stolen from someone else, they could manage your assets and execute transactions only from your Mizar account. To increase the security of your Mizar account, we strongly recommend that you have 2FA enabled (check how to activate it here), a strong password, and that you immediately contact the Mizar team if you feel something is wrong with your security.

What should you do now?

If you are connected to your exchange without having Mizar’s whitelisted IPs, we strongly recommend doing it. It takes a few seconds and it could save your assets in case of a hack or malicious intent. Your bots and current open positions will not be affected.
